“What does it mean to see the world through an anthropological lens?”
“How exactly do you conduct fieldwork?”
“Can participant observation be applied to my own work?”
If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, this workshop is for you.
IDEAFUND Co., Ltd. (Founder & CEO: Naoko Okawachi, Tokyo) is hosting a hands-on fieldwork workshop designed to introduce the basics of anthropology through real-world exploration.
During this interactive session, we will walk through the neighborhood of Shirokanedai, engaging in participatory observation to experience the city from the “inside out.” Even familiar streets and everyday moments can reveal surprising insights when viewed through an anthropological perspective.
No prior knowledge of anthropology is required — all are welcome!
Whether you’re curious about observation techniques, love urban walks, or want to bring new perspectives into your work or life, we encourage you to join us.
